Automation with iOS Shortcuts

The latest KleverKey iOS app (version 2.2.0 and later) allows you to unlock KleverKey locks using the Shortcuts app.

This enables you to create automations that unlock a door when a trigger is activated.

• Tapping an NFC tag opens the office door
• Upon arrival at the office (based on location), the office door opens
• When connecting to the home Wi-Fi, the home office door opens
• and much more

The following example demonstrates how to open a door by tapping an NFC tag.

Procedure

• Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone
• In the “Library” tab, tap “+” and then search for “KleverKey”
• Tap “Open Lock,” select the lock, and choose “Always Open Remotely” for a faster opening process (the lock will then not be searched for via Bluetooth first)
• In the “Automation” tab, tap “+” and select “NFC” from the list

• Under NFC Tag, tap “Scan” and touch the NFC sticker (NFC must be enabled on the iPhone)

• Name the tag (e.g., “Office”) and select “Run Immediately” for better performance
• Then select the shortcut you created earlier
• 🚀 Test: Touching the NFC tag should open the door
