This is how you open a door with the KleverKey door handle KK2172 or the door fitting KK2174: with a badge (card or key fob) or with the KleverKey app.
Good to know: As long as nobody presents a permission, the handle is disengaged. You can press it down, but it does not open the door. Only after a valid permission does it engage so the door can be opened. When the handle is not in use, it is in sleep mode to save battery.
Open with a badge
- Hold the badge against the black cover of the handle.
- As soon as the handle recognises the permission, it engages.
- Press the handle down and open the door. It then disengages again automatically.
The handle does not react? It is still in sleep mode. Press it down a few times until the LEDs light up, then hold the badge against it again.
Open with the KleverKey app
Requirements:
- The KleverKey app is installed (App Store or Google Play) and you are signed in.
- Your administrator has given you a permission. It appears in the app.
- Bluetooth is switched on on your smartphone.
- Open the KleverKey app.
- Check the colour of the permission: dark blue means the lock is in range. If it is light blue, move closer to the door or check that Bluetooth is switched on.
- Tap the permission briefly. The handle engages.
- Press the handle down and open the door.
Office mode: keep the door open
In office mode, the handle stays engaged until an authorised person disengages it again. During this time, anyone can open the door, for example during opening hours.
For this, your permission needs the option «Allow office mode». Your administrator sets this in the KleverKey portal.
| Switch office mode on | Switch office mode off | |
|---|---|---|
| Badge | Hold the badge against the cover for about 5 seconds until the LEDs flash a second time | Same as switching on |
| App | Press and hold the permission (about 1 second) | Same as switching on |
Important: Switch office mode off again at the end of the day. Otherwise the door stays open for everyone.
Battery warning
When the battery is low, the red LED flashes and the handle beeps 5 times briefly.
In this case, inform your administrator so the battery can be replaced in time. You can find the instructions under Replacing the battery of a KleverKey door handle
