The aim of this article is to show how to connect the KleverKey Reader KK2132/34 directly with an external control unit, such as elevator controller or sliding door controller.
Intro
The reader must be installed outside the door and connected to power. The reader has a potential-free relay output (3 + 4) and various electric loads like motor, door opener or a digital input of a control unit could be connected.
Important: If the reader is installed to secure an outside door, we strongly recommend to use a security module to increase overall security. See Connect a Security Module for more details.
Control Unit has Input type "closing contact"
If the control unit has an input type "closing contact" or similar, the following wiring diagram could be considered. This input type is normally used for direct connection of a button or switch to manually close a door by pressing the button or switch.
Note: The relay of the reader can switch max. 30VAC/DC, max. 1.5A
Control Unit has Input type "digital Input"
If the control unit has an input type "digital input", the following wiring diagram could be considered. This input type is normally used to connect another electronic device to the control unit.
Important: Make sure that the voltage levels of the reader and the control unit matches. The reader can be powered with 8-24VDC or 8-16VAC at typ. 1W (max. 5W).
